My intent is to remove the cast, and continue to wear the splint (which, if worn properly restricts my hand movement equally to the cast, the only difference being that it can be removed if needed.) This cast is driving me crazy, my hand is uncomfortable, itchy, and it looks stupid. I know that it is largely frowned upon to remove one's own cast, but this bone has been healing for 4.5 weeks now. they said I would need the cast for 6 weeks, which will mean my right hand will be useless to me for about 7.5 weeks total which I don't know if I'm willing to deal with. I hate this thing so much, and I want it off. (I had the cast put on three weeks ago, but I wore the splint for 10-11 days before they put the cast on, so its been about 4.5 weeks since the injury)
